Known as Amsterdam’s Latin Quarter, De Pijp is a lively bohemian district with many boutiques and studios of young professionals. Formerly a working class area, De Pijp is now a lively area with markets, parks, and squares. The old Heineken brewery resides here, now becoming the tourist attraction The Heineken Experience. The Albert Cuypmarket is the largest daytime market in Europe. As well, De Pijp offers many examples of architecture in the Amsterdam School style like the De Dageraad and the Workers’ Palace.
