Dick van Hoff

Dick van Hoff prefers not to be called a designer and instead refers to himself as an industrial tailor. He has a strong sense of material and form with a great love for objects produced in the workshop. His stoves have attracted attention and showcased his ability to design for the heart of the home. His designs for Royal Tichelaar Makkum such as the Work Collection (2007) show that ceramics are suitable for more applications than just cups and vases. Since 2007 he has been partnered with Floris Schoonderbeek and Rogier Martens as Weltevree, a Dutch product label that develops and produces its own designs and supplies them directly to the end users. Their first product was Hoff’s Stonestove (1999).
