Research: Rembrandt van Rijn

Rembrandt van Rijn, another master of the Dutch Golden Age (see: Frans Hals research for info on Baroque/Dutch Golden Age) painted numerous well-known works like ‘The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolas Tulp’, ‘The Nightwatch’, and many self-portraits. As a master of chiaroscuro, Rembrandt creates a high level of intensity in his works. Using a triangle structure for compositional form, along with allusion and a sense of movement , Rembrandt remains one of the most famous artists in the world.
